As we all know, YouTube is the most popular online video sharing website worldwide. There you can find millions of videos, many of which you may want to save locally on your computer. To achieve this, you can use a tool such as YouTube to MP3 Converter. It was designed to allow you both to download videos from YouTube and to convert them into your preferred video format.
Even though the program's user interface is pretty simple, it may take a while to get familiar with its usage. As with most YouTube downloaders, you need to copy the URL of the online video you want to download and paste it into a special panel – the program provides you with a special window for this purpose. As soon as you add a video URL, the program tries to retrieve information about that video and to show you a preview of it. Unfortunately when I tried to add several video URLs for testing, the program failed over and over again. It probably needs updating its video retrieving algorithms.
The program also allows you to convert your local video files from one format to another, and to extract their audio stream. To do this, you just need to select your original video file, the output format, and a location to save the resulting file. The available output formats are: AVI, MP4, FLV, WMV, and MP3. Unluckily, the program does not give you the chance to configure the output quality at all.
In conclusion, it seems that YouTube to MP3 Converter fails at downloading videos from YouTube, and offers very limited functionality at converting your local video files between formats. Therefore, I would hardly recommend this tool to anybody.
